Le franais
Ami du jour Please refer to the schedule for the month of June. As of June 7th there will no longer be a friend of
the day. We will all take turns helping out
Les themes This month themes are focused on fairy tales, summer, and the ocean and vacation! We are learning
how to write in our writers workshop and doing math and letter review to be ready for grade 1 next September!
You can help at home by discussing what we have been doing for our themes, and asking for French vocabulary
that your child has learned.
La lecture Keep up the great work reading at home en franais! The best way for your child to learn a new
language is for him/her to be exposed/immersed in that language as much as possible. Reading at home en
franais can make an enormous difference in your childs ability to learn French and will contribute to a higher
level of reading ability and comprehension.
Les mathmatiques
Les mesures We are currently reviewing numbers in addition to what was already being covered on a daily
basis within the class routine. Some activities will include number representations, as well as activities which will
initiate your child to addition. You can help at home by encouraging your child to count, and show number
representation on a daily basis. They wont even know they are reinforcing their learning because they will be so
proud to show you what they know!
Le nombre Number sense activities and math vocabulary will be incorporated in the classroom daily routine,
math centers and occasionally during teaching times. You can help at home by encouraging your child to practice
counting out loud in French and practice printing numbers.
Lducation Physique
Students will continue with fun games but with a circus theme! Sports day is also just around the corner; we hope
to see you there! You can help by discussing the importance of staying active and by asking what we have been
doing in PE.
La planification personnelle
Students have been practicing to be ready for grade one. You can help at home by asking your child what they
have been doing to be prepared (i.e. participating in calendar and carpet times, completing their work in a neat
and timely manner, listening to directions and following class rules).
Class Calendar
Thank you for a lovely year. I have truly enjoyed your children and will greatly miss
them. They are a testament to the awesome parenting I see in this class and within
the school. I wish you all a great summer!
