Chippewa High School

College Credit Plus

Pathways to earn 15 or 30 credit hours
Chippewa High School students have the opportunity to choose from 14 courses worth over 40
credit hours. The state of Ohio requires each school district to create a pathway for students to earn 15
or 30 credit hours of no cost college credit with a partner school. We work with Stark State College and
The University of Akron and have listed below possible courses a student could take (meeting all
admission requirements of Stark State College and the University of Akron prior to enrollment) to earn
these credit hours. Also, students may choose from any of the dual enrollment courses offered at
Chippewa High School where the student meets the admission and eligibility criteria to enroll in the
course. With careful planning beginning freshmen/sophomore year a student can earn a General
Associate of Arts Degree from Stark State College or The University of Akron.
Students and parents may refer to College Credit Plus section in the 2015-2016 Chippewa High
School Course Bulletin for a full description of each course. A Dual Enrollment meeting is held in
November of the students sophomore/junior year. Detailed information regarding College Credit Plus
including Dual Enrollment at CHS is conveyed Information is also available on the Chippewa High School
Guidance Office anytime.
