ABOUT TO BE STUNG WITH
HIGHER WASTE CHARGES
Under Auckland Councils new plans, waste
charges will double for many of those living
in the Rodney ward.
Internal Auckland Council documents exposed
by the Ratepayers Alliance show that the
Council is planning to hike rates to subsidise
new Council-run waste operations. Right
now private competition has kept our waste
charges among the lowest in Auckland so the
Councils going to hike rates to standardise
and expand its empire. That means your
household will being paying more.

THE CHANGES MEAN:

Those living in the former Rodney District
will pay 46% more
Those living in the former Waitakere City
will pay 107% more

Rodney Ward Councillor Penny Webster
claims that the Councils proposed waste
management system is more efficient and
cost effective despite it resulting in dramatic
increases in charges and less flexibility for
Rodney ratepayers.
We say that Councillor Webster should be
fighting to allow Rodney householders to
opt-out of the Councils new and expensive
regime, and let residents continue to choose
the best service for them.
