USED TO + VERB (BASE)


We use USED TO to talk about actions that happened regularly in the past.
We generally use the PAST tense and Frequency adverbs as well as Frequency expressions

Exm: Mary USED TO dance ballet when she was little


My little brother USED TO sleep with a teddy bear when he was 5 years old
My father USED TO smoke a lot

All of these actions remain in the PAST.

GET USED TO + VERB (ING)


It involves the process of adjusting to changes

EXM: I am GETTING USED TO cooking


She is GETTING USED TO studying at night
He is GETTING USED TO working under a lot of stress

BE USED TO + VERB (ING)

We use BE USED TO When we have finished adjusting to changes and we are already.
Accustomed to something.

EXM: After many years of living in Africa I AM now USED TO living here.
I have been studying at Mater Salvatoris for 10 years. Now, I AM USED TO
working here.
At the beginning it was difficult to drive in London but now I AM USED TO
driving there.
