Have the class do a jigsaw on the divisions of law in order to
familiarize themselves.
- Students will all choose a stick and be divided into 5
groups of 7. Each group will read provided information
on either
1. Small claims court
2. Provincial Supreme Court
3. Court of Appeal
4. Federal Court of Canada
5. Supreme Court of Canada

The teacher will provide materials to each group so that


together they can become experts on the topic.

Afterwards, they will get into groups of 5 and an expert from
each topic will share what they learned with the group. This
will allow students to get a more informed understanding of all
types of civil court in Canada
Students will complete chart for their notes based on
information learned from their materials and from experts in
their groups.
