The NDP party was formed because The Co-operative Commonwealth
Federation of Canada (CCP) needed a new national party. This national party
was called the New Democratic Party (NDP).
The Co-operative Commonwealth Federation is groups of people that wanted
to help Canadians affected by the Great Depression.

NDP bELIEFS OVER TIME

-The NDP used to be more to left, supporting the union and workers. Now
they are moving towards the center, supporting middle-class Canadians as
well.

NDP ECONOMY PLATFORMS

- The NDP are going to strengthen middle-class families standard of living,
which means they will be able to do more things with their earnings.
-The NDP are going to improve transportation and build more roads across
Canada. They are going to reduce the time it takes for people to get from one
place to another.

NDP IMMIGRATION PLATFORM

-The NDP will recognize the degree of professionals from other countries. (e.g.
doctors, scientists, etc.)
-The NDP will make it easier for families to reunite in Canada.

All About Tom Mulcair:

Tom Mulcair is said to be a principled leader that will bring change to Ottawa.
Mulcair was born on October 24th 1954 in Quebec, Canada. He was interested
in politics at a young age. He was elected to Quebecs National Assembly and
from there he continued on to environment in 1994. He was an activist at
Vanier College where he helped lead a student strike. He has 10 siblings
altogether.

NDP TAXES PLATFORM

-The NDP will lower the taxes of small businesses ( e.g. Gardening/cleaning
services, small construction firms, etc.).
- The NDP will raise taxes for larger companies.
-The NDP will not change personal income taxes

ENVIRONMENT PLATFORM
-The NDP will protect Canadas lakes and rivers.
-The NDP will start using renewable energy (e.g. solar power, wind turbines,
etc.).

POSITIVES OF THE NDP

The NDP is going to help middle-class families to make life easier and
more affordable
Marijuana will be legal, but the government will tell you the dosage per
day
Help keep drunk drivers off the streets

NEGATIVES OF THE NDP

The NDP is inexperienced in governing because they have never

governed the whole Canada before. Even though the NDP has good
intentions, they may not be able to carry out their ideas.

COOL FACTS ABOUT THE NDP

Mulcair used to be a Liberal!!!

Mulcairs great great grandfather was the premier of Quebec.
Mulcair has nine siblings. He is the 2nd oldest.
Ms. Leos uncle went to highschool with Tom Mulcair!!!
