Edmodo allows students the opportunity to

understand concepts because there is always the
option for clarifications from both teachers and
peers, analyze and apply based on the homework
that comes in. And create and share their own
content with their teachers and peers.

So far Edmono seems free use as long as you create an account
and have access to a computer and an internet connection.
Edmodo allows students to ask real-time questions and get almost
instantaneous answers from their teachers and peers. It also
provides a safe environment for students to interact with one
another on social media under the watchful guidance of a teacher.
Additionally, learning on Edmono can occur anytime and is not
limited to classroom hours because students can access it anytime
and from any device. Finally, Edmodo makes it easier for teachers
to disseminate information and test for understanding (i.e. the
teacher can post Google polls about the lesson that day)
Edmodo requires that students have access to a computer or
smart device, as well as an internet connection. Lower income
students and students with special needs might find this
challenging. Additionally, because any student can post on

(a few paragraphs elaborating on how might you use this tool to
enhance the learning of your future students- be specific, when
and how might you use this tool, do the strengths outweigh the
limitations, are there things you need to do first before this tool
will be useful to you, is this something that you think you will
actually want to use someday or not and provide your reasons,
etc. etc.) As a teacher in the 21st century, I find Edmodo extremely
attractive and useful because it appeals to the needs of my
students to constantly be on social media and interacting with one
another. It redefines the classroom as beyond the physical
confines of the building, and that learning can take place anytime
as long as students and teachers are interacting with one another.
I would probably use Edmodo in my teaching because it allows me
to always be able to respond instantly to important questions my
students my might have. Plus Im able to monitor their interactions
with one another and pick up on trends that I might have
otherwise missed out. The ability to post Google forms and polls
through Edmodo is extremely appealing to me because it allows
me to more effectively hand out and collect homework. Plus quick
snap polls allow me to make quick formative assessments of the
academic health of the classroom. It also allows me to connect
with my students on a personal level (regardless of whether they
miss school) and make me more approachable to them. I find that
students respond better to learning if they feel that their teacher
is more approachable and more responsive to their learning needs.
