Ethical Issues and Social Responsibility

This goal aims to expand an individuals awareness and understanding of the various ethical
issues in the world by comprehending the social, intellectual, and personal perspectives that
impact how society functions as a whole. It educates the individual by practicing and developing
the cognitive ability of questioning values and norms. Through this, one should be able to
analyze and contemplate a multitude of angles. This goal was achieved through collaboration in
communities and group projects by accessing and applying this knowledge to different
foundations. Knowing that, objectively, there cannot be one best way, it is up to the individual to
build from this new found knowledge to work towards the most beneficial solution when
encountering a problem in their culture or society.

Diversity of Human Experience


Working towards broadening the scope of ones intellectual capacity to question personal,
institutional, and ideological issues based on diversity in a scholarly fashion. In this way, one
should be able to construct independent meanings and interpretations of what is being taught.
This goal makes it possible for one to access vital knowledge of their own placement in the
human experience and question their views, which draws attention to the implications for life
choices in a public and personal manner. This will enable a recognition of differences in
socioeconomic class, gender, age, sexual orientation, race, and moreover, the differences in
ethnic, religious, and cultural perspectives which ultimately results in the humans ability and
how exactly their experiences differ from another persons.

Inquiry and Critical Thinking


Learning to thoroughly investigate to generate an objective analysis and evaluation of an issue
that forms judgement. This can only be accomplished through identifying and developing a
captivating question that is explored in a solidified, systemic approach. By utilizing appropriate
methodologies and understanding the limitations and/or advantages of the approach, one is able
to identify useful evidence that synthesizes an extensive analysis of said question. This analysis
is accomplished through great attentive practice to a full range of relevant considerations and
exploration in original ways.

Communication
This goal combines divergent elements of oral means to gain a fluid ability in consistently and
actively engaging in discussion that expands upon a given context. Information provided is
contributive, thought provoking, and is appropriate and respectful. This is accommodated by
compelling evidence that is skillfully crafted in a manner that integrates ones own thoughts and
ideas as well as counterpoints. Practiced through numeracy, discussion, and writing, one can
properly analyze with means to understand subject matter.
