God found in the Bible and explore in sermons how that word fits with our daily lives. We receive in this
place the gifts of God’s grace as Jesus offers us himself, body and blood, forgiving us and restoring the
relationship between God and humanity. And we respond to this extravagant love by offering what we
have, our selves, our time, and our possessions, to love and serve others in the name of our Lord

Building Community through Relationships

PLAY AND PRAISE WEDNESDAY NIGHTS BEGINNING JUNE 16 Play & Praise will provide a simple way to
get together each Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 pm for games, food, and a brief time of worship. Get
outside, get moving and get together with friends new and old. Make plans to attend and invite your
friends and neighbors throughout the summer. Want to help? Consider providing refreshments, game
equipment, leading children’s activities, or helping with skits or music. Talk with Pastor Jim or Dana
Lewis if you’d like to help.
YOUTH MINISTRY MEETING FOR ALL 7TH-11TH GRADERS AND PARENTS TO BE HELD JUNE 6 As we
look forward to the fall and explore ways to grow and improve on the Youth Ministry we already have,
we are looking for YOUR input. On Sunday, June 6, after the 11AM worship service we will gather to
share ideas about what you want to see happening with our youth ministry and share a little about what
is already in the works for this fall. Come to this meeting ready to share your ideas. Questions? Talk to
Liz Chois, Dana Lewis, or Pastor Jim.
THE LUTHERAN MALARIA INITIATIVE is an unprecedented collaborative effort among the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and Lutheran World Relief to mobilize
the nearly 8 million Lutherans in the United States to join the battle against malaria -- a preventable
and treatable disease that kills more than one million people a year. The Lutheran Malaria Initiative
(LMI) will educate U.S. Lutherans about malaria, advocate for global health initiatives, and raise funds
to help combat malaria. By combining proven field strategies, experience, expertise, and resources.
Join in supporting this important initiative with a special offering on Sunday, May 9th that will be
combined with other offerings throughout the synod at the NE Ohio Synod assembly on May 14-15.
GARAGE SALE Ministry Board is planning to have a garage sale on August 13-14 to support our furniture
ministry. As you do your spring house cleaning, please save items for the sale. If you are interested in
helping with the sale, we will welcome your help. More information will follow.
FURNITURE MINISTRY Advent Lutheran Furniture Ministry is taking on a new direction for the future.
We want you to be a part of this important ministry to our community and the larger area. We are
forming a sub-committee to establish a sustainable and effective plan for connecting the many willing
donors in our communities with those in need of simple furnishings for a better life. Last year this
ministry helped move 125 children off the floor onto a mattress, bed or crib along with numerous other
blessings Please pray for this ministry and your involvement with it. If you have questions please talk
