The artefact is the Certificate of Participation in the Primary Connections Ready: Pre-service Teacher Program completed in April 2016. Primary Connections Linking science with literacy is an innovative approach to teaching and learning which aims to enhance primary school teachers' competence for teaching science. Through the program I developed my knowledge of the 5E's constructivist model for teaching primary science, science and literacy, incorporating ICT, backward design and embedding assessment.

Through completing the Primary
Connections Ready: Pre-service Teacher Program I developed my knowledge of the 5Es constructivist model for teaching primary science, science and literacy, incorporating ICT, backward design and embedding assessment.
This artefact meets APST 2.1
as the focus of the program involved using the 5E constructivist model to effectively teach Primary science. I developed my knowledge in content organisation through a deeper understanding of what is involved in each stage of the model

Completing the program has impacted
my future teaching of the science concepts as I explored the 5E sequence for teaching science and the research detailing the effectiveness for using this model on students learning outcomes. I have developed my understanding of what is required including assessment at each of the engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate stages of the unit. During the program we successfully created a unit of work collaboratively in teams using this 5E teaching sequence. I now
