Management Science Methods Revision Course Outline

This course will review the material that you need to know for the Management Science
Methods (MSM) examination which you will be taking in the near future.
It will:
highlight common student mistakes in answering examination questions
discuss the correct approach to examination questions.
The preliminary examination (mock examination) that you took recently will also be discussed
in detail.
The topics covered will be taken from the list below, but with emphasis placed on topics
where I feel (in the light of your performance on the preliminary examination) that you need
extra attention in terms of your examination revision:
Methodology
Problem structuring and problem structuring methods
Short notes question
Network analysis
Decision making under uncertainty
Inventory control
Markov processes
Mathematical programming formulation
Linear programming - solution
Data envelopment analysis
Multicriteria decision making
Queueing and simulation
In terms of material to bring to the revision course you should have:
your copy of the subject guide (as issued by the University of London)
a copy of the revision questions as uploaded to the SIM portal
These can be either in paper or electronic form, whichever you find easiest.
