CityConnect Cycling and Walking Project (www.cyclecityconnect.co.uk):
SHARED SPACE SCHEME ROAD MARKING WORKS Stanningley, Leeds
As you will be aware Leeds City Council are in the process of public realm improvements in
Stanningley as part of the CityConnect cycle superhighway scheme. As part of this scheme there is a
coloured central strip to be installed.
In order to carry out the works safely the full road will have to be closed, as it would not possible to
maintain a safety zone between the works and traffic if only partial closures are used.
During the closures there will be considerable disruption to traffic. We apologise in advance for any
inconvenience and assure you that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
The road will be closed on Sunday 19th June, Sunday 26th June, Sunday 3rd July from 07.00hrs until
19.00hrs at the following locations:
Sunday 19th June Stanningley Road will be closed from Richardshaw Lane to Savoy Court
Sundays 26th June and 3rd July the road will be closed from Richardshaw Lane to Arthur Street.
Access will be available to Sunfield from Richardshaw Lane via temporary traffic lights.
Please be aware that any adverse weather may potentially cause changes to times and dates and this
will be publicised online and via the highways signs. Provisional arrangements have been made for
closures on subsequent Sundays 10th July if the conditions are unfavorable on the earlier dates.
Road closures with signed diversions will be in place during the contractors working hours. Bus
services will also be diverted during the contractors working hours.
Pedestrian access will be available at all times throughout the working period, however vehicle access
will not be able to be maintained.
