WAYNE ROONEY

EARLY YEARS
Wayne Rooney, the son of Jeanette Marie and Thomas Wayne
Rooney, was born on Oct 24, 1985 in Croxteth, Liverpool.
He has 2 younger brothers named Graham and John.
He attended Our Lady and St Swithins primary school and later
went to De La Salle Humanities College. Ever since his childhood,
he was a supporter of his local club Everton with whom he signed
a contract with in 2002.

HIGHLIGHTS OF HIS CAREER


At the age of nine Rooney joined the youth team of Everton, for
whom he made his professional debut in 2002 at the age of 16. He
spent two seasons at the Merseyside club, before moving to
Manchester United for 25.6million in the 2004 summer transfer
window. Since then, with Rooney in the team, United have won the
Premier League five times, the UEFA Champions League once, the
FIFA Club World Cup once and the League Cup twice. In September
2013, Rooney scored his 200th goal for United. He is currently on
235 goals, making him the club's third-highest goal scorer of all
time.

HIGHLIGHTS OF HIS CAREER


Wayne Rooney also plays for the England International Team.
Rooney made his senior international debut in February 2003 aged
17, becoming the youngest player to represent England (a record
now held by Theo Walcott) and he is England's youngest ever goal
scorer. He played at UEFA Euro 2004 and scored four goals. Rooney
has since played at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups and is
regarded as his country's best player. He has won the England
Player of the Year award three times, in 2008, 2009 and 2014. With
50 goals in 107 international caps, Rooney is England's all time
record goal scorer and joint-fifth most-capped player.

Rooney has two kids, Kai Wayne Rooney and Klay Anthony Rooney
Rooney's younger brother, John Rooney, is also a professional
footballer who plays for the club Chester.
Rooney has a number of tattoos, including one of a Celtic cross on
his arm
Rooney has had a hair transplant.

COMMUNITY SERVICE/NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS


Wayne Rooney goes to many camps where he helps coach and
teach kids soccer.
Rooney is the first ever children ambassador for the NSPCC. The
NSPCC helps children who have been neglected and abused.
Rooney supports multiple charities such as, SOS Children's
Villages, UNICEF, and Willow Foundation.
Rooney designed a diamond-encrusted motorbike which he sold at
an auction for 43,250 euros. The money raised from the sale will
support KidsAid's work in Denmark with sick youngsters.
