Vision Component of Charismatic Leadership

THE VISION FORMULATION OF CHARISMATIC LEADERSHIP
Effective communication skills are an imperative in the successful articulation of
a compelling vision and maintenance of a leadership role.
Vision is the ability to imagine different and better conditions and the ways
to achieve them.
Effective leaders have clear visions, and vision is an important part of
strategy implementation and bringing about change.
Charismatic leaders inspire others with their vision, because a vision uplifts
and attracts others.
Mission is a purpose, and reason for being.
Vision statement is likely to be more inspirational when it combines three
elements:

A reason for being beyond making money.

Timeless, unchanging core values.
Ambitious but achievable goals.
The charismatic leader also helps implement the vision.
To create a vision, it is helpful to obtain information from many sources,
including:

Group discussions with group members
Other vision statements
The hopes and dreams of constituents
The larger organizations vision.

Visions can be inspiring but they need to be supported by managers who

are strong at implementation.
