J Fraser Prychologist March 23, 2016 Dear Rev. Almleaf and the Congregation of the Grace Lutheran Church, ‘Awarm thank you, and specific gratitude to the Outreach Committee for providing Easter dinner to ane of our high school families. In these days of hustle and bustle very few take the time to assist another. Without violating confidences, this. family is of need and appreciates the gratitude of what this wonderful congregation has done, My heart is touched in knowing that fine people exist who extend not only of their generosity but their hearts as wel In your kindness | am reminded of what the Quaker Missionary Grellet sai: “shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness | can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” There is nothing like the laughter of children or the heartfelt thanks in hearing a little voice expressing thelr gratitude. My hhonor has been in experiencing this with all 5 of these children. One's life can be changed with the moments we encounter, and | have been blessed with the above encounter. A philosophy of a congregation starts with God's word which then transcends to the Reverend or Pastor who works in concert with the congregants to create a place of welcoming warmth, learning, comfort and shelter. Such is the case of the Grace Lutheran Church, which in my esteem is a unique vessel for God's work. Take solace in knowing for one special day you all made a difference in a families lfe, that God willing, will create a memory for a child to hold on to for years to come. The article below was posted on the internet, it talks about one of our parishioners and how her caring made a difference in one of her student's lives. Please read it, it will warm your heart. Tyler is the step-grandson of Carol and Clem Hennessey. Hats off to you Nikki Hathaway and to all of our public school and Sunday School teachers here at Grace Lutheran, you all make a difference and we thank you. PERTH/AMSTERDAM, N.Y. ~- Putting on headphones is something many of us do every day. Whether its music, podcasts, news or games, we kind of just accept the quality we get, But Tyler Chilton wants you to hear more. “Tyler was willing to work if he liked it. And he 2d it, and he did it," said former librarian Nikki Hathaway. In high school, Tyler developed a friendship with Hathaway, the schoo''s librarian. When faced with the uestion what to do with his life after high school, he didn't want to go to a traditional four-year school, and didn’t know of any vocational schools he wanted to attend, so he decided to go to Fulton Montgomery Community College for General Studies. “I thought, ‘This is not going to work.'| said, ‘Could | have your mother’s phone number?" | wanted to call her up," said Hathaway. It would turn out to be the most }portant phone call of Tyler's life. "Icalled her up and | was very bold and | sai Arts, he won't stay," said Hathaway. "I know Tyler is going to F-M. | think if you put him in Liberal Instead Mrs. Hathaway recommended a cutting-edge program in Electrical Technology that FMCC offered, and instead of being annoyed that a teacher had called her up, Tyler's mother's was sold. “From that bloomed into everything I've done so far,” said Tyler Chilton. While studying electrical technology, Tyler decided to build himself an audio amplifier with plans he found on the internet. It worked so well, a friend bought it off him. He made another, and that one sold too, He was on to something. “Eventually, selling these headphone amplifiers was making more than working part time,” said Chilton. Aimed at PC gamers, the audio accessory was a hit. Once the orders started to outpace what he could make in his family's living room, he decided to get his own storefront. Its a non-descript building that thousands of cars drive by every day, and little do they know they are driving by a major player in the audio industry. "I think we do over a thousand headphone amplifiers a year,” said Chil ‘Success would be an understatement. With distributors ’around the world, sales constantly growing and dozens of outstanding YouTube reviews, Mayflower Electronics has become one of gamers’ go-to choices. "I would never change it for the world; what I've done now | wouldn't change it for anything," said Chilton Since that fateful phone call, Tyler has maintained a relationship with his former high school librarian, who takes no credit for his success, calling it the joy of teaching instead “feel like every time there is a success like Tyler, | did something right," said Hathaway. Tyler's business is only growing, with a new product launch expected soon. And if there is one moral to the Story, it’s to listen to your teachers. You never know when they may know you even better than you know yourself. Eighty- Eight years The years galloped by so fast, and then I, Looking back longingly, Wondered where they could be. For eighty-eight years I'd borne hope and fears.
