For my final course portfolio, I decided to revise my two writing projects. For my WP1 I would like to be more clear when explaining my two different genres. I also want to fix how repetitive I was when explaining the different writing conventions.

Writing 2 25 May 2016 Portfolio Revision Plan For my final course portfolio, I decided to revise my WP1 and WP2. I chose these two writing projects because I feel like those were the mains assignments that helped me understand what the whole course was about. Although we revised these two projects several times, I still felt like my papers needed more revising in order for me to be satisfied with them. By choosing these two projects, it will give me the opportunity to revise my papers again, take into consideration the peer review and teacher comments and apply those comments into my revisions. For my WP1 I would like to be more clear when I explain my two different genres. I think that if this time I choose a common topic for my two genres it would make it easier for me to explain how the two genres have different writing conventions. I also want to fix how repetitive I was when explaining the different writing conventions between each genre. I would also like to the change the way I set up my project. The format I used for WP1 was not very clear and it made my paper a little bit confusing. At the beginning of my paper I started off by describing one genre and towards the end I started to compare the two genres. I think that if I briefly explain both of the genres in one or two paragraphs at the beginning of the paper and then continue to compare and contrast throughout the whole paper it would make my argument clearer to the reader. Based on the peer review and teacher comments I can revise my paper by separating my paragraphs into different topics. In my draft some of my paragraphs contained too many different ideas that could have been separated and explained in different paragraphs. If I separate my paragraphs I think that will also help me make my argument clearer. After reading my WP2, I want to change my introduction. I want to introduce my two academic disciplines more clearly and also have a clearer thesis. My introduction was really long so I think I was being very repetitive and some of the things I said in my introduction could be split into a different paragraph. I am content with the way I set up the paper, but I think I should add more analysis and details to support my sub claim in each paragraph. I was more confident with WP2 so I dont think Ill have that many things to revise, but based on the reader reviews I have to do a better job in supporting my claims with evidence from my chosen academic disciplines. I used evidence from the disciplines, but it would make my claims more credible if I use more quotes from the text that supported my argument. Based on the comments I also need to fix the way I introduce quotes. If quotes are just randomly placed throughout the text, it can confuse the reader and make difficult for the reader to understand why the quotes was used. One last thing I would like to revise in my WP2 would be my conclusion. I want to be able to wrap up my paper and be able to restate what my argument was without sounding tedious. Based on the portfolio assessment rubric I really want to focus on analysis. Analysis is very important when presenting an argument because it shows critical thinking and an understanding of the purpose of each assignment. I also want to focus on the use of evidence. I want to make sure that my evidence supports my claims and shows that I understand how the use of evidence works. I want to be able to properly cite sources and that I have no errors in my citations.
