June 2016 To whom it may concern: It has been my pleasure of working with Ms. Williams for the past two year as the districts Elementary Curriculum and Instructional Coach, and before that as a colleague for four years. She has been working with Harmony Public Schools for six years working with a group of diverse and dynamic ELL fourth and fifth grade students. Ms. Williams has shown the ability to engage, support, and facilitate the education of her students with success in her classroom. Ms. Williams is a wonderful team player. This year alone, she helped support her fifth grade team by holding meetings, sharing resources, discussing student needs in lessons, and helping the teachers with their lessons. Not only is she a team player, but she is an avid team member on campus and district as well and is always willing to step in and help out when needed. During our district professional development, Ms. William actively participates and shares ideas. As her instructional coach, we have had many wonderful conversations about how to best impact her students in the classroom. Inside Ms. Williams classroom you will find active, independent fifth graders engaged in a variety of hands-on learning. Ms. Williams uses a variety of cooperative learning structures to ensure active participation, accountability, differentiation, as well as student engagement. Also a variety of choice menu boards are utilized to differentiate in her classroom. Allowing this choice in her classroom has allowed her students to keep engaged and challenged while also thinking of the needs of her fifth grade students. Her classroom environment is warm and inviting, and easily makes any person who walks into her room comfortable. As she teaches her lessons are thoughtful, creative, and meaningful from beginning to end, expecting high expectations from each student. Lastly, Ms. Williams is a very dedicated teacher who knows all her students strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles to help each child succeed in their own way. Ms. Williams strives to self-reflect and grow as an educator. As a teacher, she has always been self-reflective and seeking ways to improve her lessons. One of her greatest strengths is her desire to learn and continue her learning. She is always reading and sharing her books with all she surrounds herself with. She is always open to new ideas and willing to take risks for the benefit to improve student achievement. Ms. Williams would be a wonderful teacher at any school, and you will find that she has the ability to create an engaging environment filled with active learners excited ready to begin another day at school. Ms. Williams is easily one of the best teachers I have ever witnessed in my teaching career. It is for these reasons that it is my honor to recommend Amanda Williams for any position in the teaching field. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you, Sierra Becker
