MUIDS STUDENT LITTER MANY WATER BOTTLES IN CAMPUS

MUIDS students uselessly throw away used
plastic water bottles in the bin everyday. Almost
150 bottles everyday are collected by the
cleaners. The plastic bottles from refreshment
stall are sold frequently in a day. The students
who buy those bottles litter them in the bin
without any caution. There used to be a group
of Service Learning class students who worked
with this problem by collecting and turning
those bottles more useful. However, those
students already stopped doing this project.

My service class collaborated with Ms.

Benyapas class. Her job was to collect the
bottles and my job was to turn the empty bottles
as plant containers. But now, our group stopped
doing these things because it was the end of
the quarter. The scores were also graded so
there was no one doing this project anymore,
said, Neeracha Lokunpai, another student from
other service learning class.

FACULTY OF LIBERAL ARTS

ORGANIZES LA FESTIVAL

According to Benyapa Toonkam, one of

MUIDS student, she explained that shes been
collecting a total of 150 plastic water bottles
everyday as it was her responsibility in the
service learning class. However, since the last
quarter ended she stopped collecting those
bottles because it wasnt her responsibility
anymore.

Faculty of liberal arts, headed by the

undergraduates in liberal art club, organized the
LA Festival or LA Very Thai Festival at
Siriwithaya building, Mahidol University, Salaya
campus on February 24, 2016 in the evening.

3rd ADMISSION IN MUIDS NOW AVAILABLE

The service learning class introduces new
activity for 10th grade students to do in the
beginning of semester two. The community
services is the main concept for this activity.
Every student at MUIDS must complete 30
hours of community service as part of their
graduation requirements.
Although the 1st and 2nd admissions are
already finished, there are not enough new
student for the next school year.

There were 300 and 120 students from many

different schools that came to take the exam
for the 1st and 2nd admissions, respectively.
MUIDS has accepted only 140 students
while there should be 220 students in each
year. This means that 30 seats are still
available. Therefore, the 3rd admission
opened for those new students who want to
study at MUIDS.

There were many activities related to Thai

culture in this festival such as temple fair, Thais
amusement and plenty of Thai food and drinks.
This festival was a good opportunity for all the
under graduates in order to show the capability
of promoting and preserving Thai arts. About
700 participants who paid 100 baht for entrance
fee enjoyed the activities.

SERVICE LEARNING CLASS BRINGS IN COMMUNITY SERVICES

activity for 10th grade students to do in the
beginning of semester two. The community
services is the main concept for this activity.
Every student at MUIDS must complete 30

graduation requirements.

I have completed 22 hours of work for

neither money nor credit.Things that I have
done so far were making notebooks for poor
children in rural area and babysitting
kindergartener. Although completing 30
hours is very tiring for me, at least I make
myself useful to society, said Phufah
Nontamongkoltorn, one of the Grade 10
students.
