I.

Introduction (Paragraph 1)
A. Hook: Are humans the only creatures on earth? Absolutely, we are not
alone and we live with many different kinds of animals.
B. Connecting information: These animals can be found anywhere on earth
but they are usually dispersed to specific habitats. That's because they can
survive only if they reside in these places. However, there is one other
place where all animals are able to survive. A zoo is a place where many
kinds of wild animals are kept for the public to see and where they are
studied, bred and protected. All over the world, there are many zoos that
house various animals found from all corner of the earth.
C. Thesis statement: These zoos or as some might call animal parks should
continuously operate for three reasons; for benefits of animals, for
advantages to people, and for economic advantages.

II. Body
A. Paragraph2
Topic sentence (first reason): To begin with, zoos help many animals
have a better life in terms of some aspects and they are beneficial for

them.
Supporting ideas
a. Zoos are an important place to preserve animals
facing extinction.
b. Zoos play a crucial role for animals, providing them
prey, housing and often the introduction to their
same species.
c. Zoos also provide a complimentary hospital which
treats animals so that, when sick or injured, they can
recover. (Horton, 2014)
B. Paragraph3
Topic sentence (second reason): A second reason why keeping zoos
is important is that zoos are advantageous to humans as well as
animals.

a. Zoos are an important source where experts can
investigate and research on wild animals in their

ecosystems.
are

b. Studies on extinct animals which are different from

above researches can teach the public more about

endangered species and their habitats.

(Occupytheory, 2015)
c. Zoos are also educational institutions for people,
especially children.

C. Paragraph4
Topic sentence (third reason): Lastly, zoos can have a favorable
influence upon the development of society.
Supporting ideas
a. Cities with zoos can develop a reputation through
the tourism and sightseeing industries.
b. .Many products in zoos also can help to provide
extra revenue for the zoos and their animals.
c. People can get job opportunities from zoos. (Hone,
2014)

D. Paragraph5 (counterargument and refutation)

a. Counterargument: There are however opponents to
zoos insist that keeping animals' captivity cruel and
immoral. (Vorhess, 1996) For this reason, anti-zoo
activists emphasize that animals should be permitted to

roam free in their natural habitat instead of being

confined in zoos.
b. Refutation: Yet, these days, many zoos help
animals adapt to their environment naturally.
Moreover, if animals live free in nature, their lives may
be endangered and jeopardized because they are
surrounded by men willing to hunt them. Our earth
cannot afford the faster extinction of wild animals.
(Kim, 2015) Thus, keeping wild animals in the zoo is
one of the greatest ways to preserve or care them.

III. Conclusion (Paragraph 5)

A. Restated thesis: In conclusion, animal parks and zoos play a major role a positive role - toward animals, humans, and society.
B. Opinion: To change people negative understanding and distorted
viewpoint on zoos, we need to show that zoos are, in fact, places which are
similar to the wild and that their achievements such as rare species
reproduction in successful. If we can do this, then, this world becomes more
harmonious harmony between humans and animals.
