THE SIX C'S OF THE NEU

PROFESSIONAL
BY TANISHA JONES

INTRODUCTION

With a very enthused heart and an eager imagination, learning about from the NEU Professionals and
educational experts it has given a great deal of information and resources to reaching our students and
making a difference in their lives. NEU has given steps and strategies with the six exceptional systems of
NEU and how they operate within their system. Their program is essential to furthering students skills
and abilities after high school and giving them a focus to achieve everything they set their minds to do.
This presentation is designed to show a portion of what NEU has to offer to our students and their
endless abilities.

COMMITTED
The belief of being committed is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal achievement because
it defines the ability to get the job done. With commitment and dedication things are able to be completed
and goals are accomplished. We must take responsibility of what goes on within the classroom and make
sure that we have a system in order for our benefit as well as the benefit of the student.
Systems fail because we dont practice them enough. We think we can do it for one day, and thats enough.
Systems fail because we get lazy about enforcing them and insisting that they are followed (Curry, D.
(2015).
It takes us the instructor or the teacher to enforce the commitment and the dedication to our classrooms in
order to see any of this from our students. We must show them what it takes in order to do their best and be
committed.

COURAGEOUS

The belief of being courageous is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal achievement because
its builds self-esteem and allows the student the ability to gain something from what they have learned and
grow from it.
Your job is to find the very best solutions, no matter where they come from, and be courageous enough to
put them into action (Lopez, D. (2013).
We must demonstrate within our classrooms the abilities to build courage and give our students this tool to
use as they strive to learn and perfect their abilities.

COLLABORATIVE

The belief of being collaborative is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal achievement
because it is a joint intellectual effort for students to work together and gain maximum knowledge and
strategies from their peers.
For example, every staff member needs to create collaborative commitments that are dedicated to achieving
results through action in a professional manner (Lopez, D. (2013).
This gives the students the assurance that their teachers are working together to make sure that they provide
the best education possible for their students. Students will then understand their need to collaborate and
work together with their peers so they can grasp information better.

CREATIVE

The belief of being creative is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal achievement because it
the box of imagination to a wider perspective. It allows students, staff, parents and the community to
become involved with something huge.
A creative idea allows room for things to grow and new inventions to be made. Students learn a great
amount of what they are capable of creating when they use their creativity.

CHARACTER CENTERED
The belief of being character centered is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal achievement
because it gives you responsibility of you character and the person people see you to be. This gives students
the ability to make themselves honorable and with great character when they do things that people can give
them credit for.
Having good character is doing the right thing when no one else is watching (Lopez, D. (2015).
Being a good role model for younger children and making sure that you are setting good examples is great
for students when character building.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CRAZY

The belief of being college and career crazy is non-negotiable and supports the culture of universal
achievement because it offers ways to better each students future. It gives them the information of knowing
that they can further their education beyond high school.
Students have the fundamental right to choose what they want to do with their lives after high school
(Lopez, D. (2015).
Knowing what road they need to take and giving them options of pathing the way for their future is
something students need to know at a early age. This prepares them for their upcoming journey.

MY COMMITTED EXAMPLE

The schools in which I work in has demonstrated the committed c that believe that all students deserve
the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college if they decide to attend. Our
schools give students the opportunity to research colleges as well as provide information of colleges in
the area that they could potential attend. Their focus on college is more of a mild set on our students
future but in years to come will grow to be a stronger more set base of system.

MY COLLABORATIVE EXAMPLE

The schools in which I work for give positive feedback and credit for students who use collaborative
means in order to get their assignments done. I have worked with many teachers who have given
assignments and extra credit for students who work together to make their assignment more resourceful
and creative. This gives students the ability to learn more and maximize their learning with another and
from another.
