utrdba z nenavadno
lego na ozkem, podolgovatem grebenu pod vrhom Gorjan cev. Manja arheoloka izkopavanja so poka. zala obstoj obzidij, ki preno zapirata dohod v utrdbo, sledove veih
zidanih stavb ter vejo zgodnjekransko cerkev, v kateri so bili e
pred stoletjem deloma izkopani
grobovi iz asa preseljevanja narodov . Najverjetneje je tej utrdbi pripadala tudi pokopalika cerkev nekaj sto metrov pod utrdbo. Postojanka sodi v vrsto utrdb , zgrajenih
ali obnovljenih v 6. st., ki so uvaJe
pomembno cesto iz vzhoda proti
Italiji.

A Late Roman fortress with an stypicallocation ona narrow elongated

ridge, below the summit of Gorjanci. Small archaeological excavations
indicated the existence of a defensive wall, which transversely blocked access to the fortress , the traces
of severa! stone-built buildings and
a larger Early Christian church, in
which graves from the Migration
Period were partly excavated in the
last century. The cemetery church,
some 100m below, probably also
belonged to the fortress . The outpost belongs to the type of fortress ,
founded or re-built in the 6th Century, which guarded the important
road , which ran towards Italy from
the east.

What to see: the mountain ambience; the foundations of the buildings and churches, partly visible in
the ground.
