This STEM challenge clearly identified and addressed the GPS standards.

The
students were able to use what they knew about plants to create their own flower
pot using LEGOs. The students were able to clearly understand the expectations of
the challenge by creating their plans as groups and then creating their LEGO
flower pot by going through the engineering and design process. The student
pictures show how the students were able to be successful in their challenge. The
teacher communicated that the students met the standard/challenge and what
their next step was in their challenge. To improve this lesson the next time the
teacher could use other materials or have students use recycled materials.
