Primary:
Einstein Revises Theory. Science News-Letter 63.15 (1953): 227. PDF file.
This was a helpful source because it showed the great importance of the
scientific community in wanting the creation of the atomic bomb done by the
Americans. This source helped to see why there was a need at all for the
Americans to obtain a nuclear weapon and how the scientific community
helped to push that. It was a very helpful primary source document that had
great significance in the creation of the Manhattan Project. I also used this in
my claim paragraph at the beginning as to set the stage as to why the
creation of the atomic program was needed.

helpful because it gave it was a primary source that helped to answer part of
my inquiry question for the utilization of the atomic bomb. All though it was
not used directly in my claim it gave me insight as to how the justification of
the creation of the bomb was to keep it out of the Germans hands and its
importance.

source and it was very helpful because it gave me a good start as to what I
should start looking into. It helped me to understand a bit of the background
information of the time period and the events that took place leading up to
the dropping of the atomic bombs.
Secondary:
Goldstein, Donald M., Katherine V. Dillon, and J. Michael Wenger. Rain of Ruin:
A Photographic History of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. N.p.: Prange Enterprise,
1995. Print. This book gave me a lot of background information and helped to
establish a solid timeline of events. It was very easy to understand and

explained the events of what happened leading up to the dropping of the

atomic bombs very well. I used this source multiple times within my claim
paragraph because this book contained a lot of helpful information.
Nichols, Thomas M. No Other Choice: Why Truman Dropped the Atomic
Bomb on Japan. National Interest. N.p., 6 Apr. 2015. Web. 5 June 2016.
<http://nationalinterest.org/feature/no-other-choice-why-truman-dropped-theatomic-bomb-japan-13504>. This source was helpful because similarly to the
Nuclear Secrecy Blog it helped to give me information as to why it is
important to take into account the difference between the time periods and
how it was needed back in that time to have dropped the bombs. I was able
to use this source in my claim to explain the importance of why the bombs
needed to be dropped.
Walker, Mark. Nazis and the Bomb. PBS NOVA. N.p., 8 Nov. 2005. Web. 31
May 2016. <http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/military/nazis-and-thebomb.html>. This source was helpful because it gave me an interesting point
of view about the creation of the atomic bomb in Germany. It showed me how
the Germans were going about making their bomb and the importance of
America's efforts to beat them. It showed me why America was able to
succeed and why Germany fell behind in the race for the bomb.

2013. Web. 31 May 2016. <http://blog.nuclearsecrecy.com/2013/08/09/whynagasaki/>. This source was very helpful to me because it gave the precious
information that I had been looking that helped me to answer why there had
to be two bombs dropped. Other sources werent as helpful as this one was in
helping me come up with a clear answer to that.
