Mark Baumer is on a porch. It is 8:28 p.m. He is

looking at a mountain of trees. The sky is nothing
except mountains and trees. Earlier today he ate lentils
and rice. Before he ate he saw a squirrel asleep on
the sidewalk. Last night he rode on a train. He was
not alone. Other people were on the train. Recently,
something made a loud noise. He is not sure if it was
a gun shot or a dying volcano. A part of Marks brain
is scared. He is probably also mostly sad for the dying
volcano, but death is an aspect of existence so like all
dying objects the volcano will eventually have to die
too. Then again, maybe it doesnt exist and the noise
Mark heard was fireworks. Its getting darker than
it was when it was getting darker earlier. Eventually
it will stop getting dark and get light, but not until
