    inconsistencies.Forexample,theymaybeunsuccessfulintheiruseofparaphraseand

    elaborationand/orinconsistentintheuseofappropriatemajortimemarkers,resultinginaloss
    inclarity.Inthoselanguagesthatuseverbalmarkerstoindicatetenseandaspect,formsarenot
    consistentlyaccurate.Thevocabulary,grammar,andstyleofIntermediate-Highwriters
    essentiallycorrespondtothoseofthespokenlanguage.ThewritingofanIntermediate-High
    writer,evenwithnumerousandperhapssignificanterrors,isgenerallycomprehensibleto
    nativesnotusedtothewritingofnon-natives,butgapsincomprehensionmayoccur.
