MATCH REPORT:

The U14 Royals faced off against the 2015 Premiers the Tuggeranong Lions in Kambah. It
was expected to be a tough game and the boys were ready and warmed up on an
abnormally warm Canberra Autumn morning.

The first quarter was a fairly tight affair with the Marist boys getting the first point on the
board, followed closely by a second. The Lions got a goal to take the early lead. The boys had
a quiet 2nd quarter, working hard to keep the Lions at bay, but were unlucky on a couple of
occasions to lose the ball in their attacking play. They managed another behind to keep
adding to the scoreboard.

The final half was a tough affair with some great plays down the middle of the paddock with
Marist getting their first goal of the match. The Kambah oval showed how it could influence

the play with its subtle slope. The Lions showed their dominance, with some lucky plays and
sharp shooting through the goal posts.
The final score was Marist 4-5-29 to Lions 10-9-69. The final score was in no way reflective of
the effort the boys put in, their play was really good for the early season and something to
build on for the season.
