MESSAGE BOARD

Theme: Rumble in the jungleTopic for next


week is Were going on a bear hunt.

On Tuesday 22nd March, 2016, we will be holding


a parade for our theme 'Rumble in the jungle'.
Please ensure that your child comes to school
that day dressed as either a jungle animal or an
explorer.

Foundation Stage 2 will be going on a trip to


Arabian Wildlife on the 23rd and 24th of March,
2016. Please see the circular for more details.

LITERACY
In Literacy, children will be introduced to the consonant digraphs ch and sh. They will learn that digraphs make one sound although its made up of two
letters.
You can practice blending and segmenting simple
words with the digraph ch like: chop, chat, chick,
chin, chair, cheek and with digraph sh like: shop,
shut, ship, shed, sheep.
Kindly practice all this words with your child at home
for better understanding.

They will also be introduced to the tricky word they.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
Children will colour scenes from the story Were going on
a bear hunt and will create captions for their colouring
sheets by copying letters from the word cards.

EXPRESSIVE ART & DESIGN


Children will be encouraged to paint pictures of some
woods.
They will also explore textures of different materials by
pressing them into playdough and clay, or by doing rubbings with chunky wax crayons.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE


Next week children will listen to the story Were going
on a bear hunt by Michael Rosen.
They will learn the vocabulary and also learn to perform
the narrative with actions.

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD


Next week children will discuss the differences and similarities between humans and bears: eyes, legs, fur, diet,
etc.

MATHEMATICS
Next week children will learn to subtract using dice
numbers from 1-10. They will also solve simple subtraction sums by using real objects or drawing pictures. For

They will also practice oral counting from 1 to 30 and
backward counting from 20.

ARABIC
Children will be introduced to the letter (Raa)
They will do recognizing and tracing activities along with a few
words beginning with the letter.
They will also learn few words related to jungle animals.
