Objective: 3-LS1-1 Develop models to describe that organisms have unique and diverse
life cycles but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction, and death.
Student Role: Frog

Audience: Fly
Format: Comic Strip
Topic: Explain the role of the frog in the food chain and how it contributes to the
ecosystem.

Directions:
1. Students will check out books from the library and do online research about frogs,
where they stand in the food chain, and how they contribute to the ecosystem.
2. Students will take notes and create a fact sheet with a minimum of ten facts about the
frog and its lifecycle.
3. Students will draft a comic strip utilizing their notes and fact sheet. The comic strip
will explain the frogs role in its ecosystem.

chosen animals.
