SPECIFICATIONS
SLAKING RATE (CAPACITY):
Seven different models available. Slaking rates ranging from 200 lb/hr (91 kg/hr) to
26,000 lb/hr (11,793 kg/hr).

CONSTRUCTION:
All welded carbon steel construction (stainless steel available). Slaking zone water jacket
provides for pre-heating of incoming slaking water, thus, in most cases, eliminating the
need for pre-heaters. Jacket and barrel walls are rolled steel plates. SCH40 water piping
(upgrades available to meet customer requirements).
INSTRUMENTATION:
Equipped with temperature transmitter, magnetic flow meter and flow control valve to
operate in a fully automated fashion after startup. Automatic temperature control for
operation at optimum slaking temperature. Manual valves with solenoids for seals and
wet scrubber water. Valves for emergency water supply in case of temperature runoff.
Also available with temperature switch, manual slaking water flow control valve and a
flow indicator (if automated controls are not required).
COMBINATION SEAL:
Mechanical and packed seal combination to improve seal performance and longevity.
WET SCRUBBER:
Supplied with dual spray nozzles and forced draft venturi eductor. Slaker operates at a
slight vacuum in the slaking zone such that all dust and steam are effectively captured.
Clean air is vented to the outside while spray water with lime dust is returned to the
slaker, thus maintaining overall water balance.

GRIT SEPARATION:
16-mesh, stainless steel vibrating screens act as a positive barrier to any grit,
removing them from the slurry and resulting in longer slurry pump impeller life.
GRIT SCREW:
Collects and removes grit. Screw conveyor length and diameter sized to meet the
application requirements.
DRIVE PACKAGE:
3-phase, chemical duty motor. Supplied to meet customer specifications. Gear
reducer and V belts (with guards).
