IwouldliketoreportandincidentsincethisdoesnotinvolvethepublicsoIamwritingtoquorum(alsoImay
notbeinvolvedwiththiscommissionmuchlonger).Asyoumayrememberinlastmeetingwehadheated
discussionaboutCellularworkgroupandmychallengestosetupmeetingswithCellphonecompanies.Iwas
actuallyabletosetupameetingwithVerizonwhodidsimilarworkinVirginia.TomysurpriseMr.Williams
andMrs.Hawkinswentbehindmetocancelmymeetingwithoutmyconsent.(pleaseseetheattachedmail)

Thechallengeisthatthecommissionsarequasilegislativebodiestheyaresacrosanct.Oncecreatedyoudo
nottouchthemthat'showthiscountryworks.Iwilltakesomestrongstepsnow(alsoinvolveDAsoffice)if
IhavetoleavethecommissionIamfinewiththatbutwecannotcompromisethebasicpremisesofour
democracyandseparationofpower.

Finally,thefactthatwearenotinvolvedwiththecomprehensivetelecomplanwhichisourcorejoband
insteadwearemanaginga200Kgrantisratherfunny.Todayyouareacommissionerbuttomorrowyoumay
beacitizenaskingacommissionforhelp.Soitsimportantweallowthecommissionstoremainfreeand
independentotherwiseweareunderminingdemocracy.
