Coronary Sinus-drains most of the blood from the heart. Lies in the posterior part of the AV groove and opens into the RA Great Cardiac Vein-located in anterior interventricular sulcus Small Cardiac Vein-follows right side of coronary sulcus -associates w/ right coronary artery Middle Cardiac Vein-begins at the cardiac apex and runs back in the posterior interventricular groove to end in the coronary sinus
Layers in the wall of the Heart
Endocardium- innermost layer endothelium- layer of flattened cells forms long tube sub-endothelial layer- nerves and BV, fibroblast, collagen and elastic fibers sub-endocardial layer- main mass of endocardium, fibroelastic tissue, contains nerves, BV, fat cells
Layers in the wall of the Heart
Myocardium middle and thickest layer made up of cardiac muscles Epicardium-outermost layer composed of mesothelium and areolar tissue. forms visceral layer of the pericardium
