Journal

Part 1:
I have presented on numerous occasions. With the position I held in the military I
gave report presentations to Officers and I taught system base classes to my
coworkers. I think I did well in these cases. Because it was a business setting
professionalism was required and presenting with authority is mandatory to be
taken serious. A typical presentation for me runs smoothly. I try to come prepared
and ready to involve my audience.
Part 2:
The similarity between righting a paper and giving a presentation is the information
being given. The difference is the manner in which you are given the information.
What is most important is to have a well thought out plan to present and a defined
ending point.
The difference in a presentation that can make it more effective than a paper are
the ways you have to present. There is no standard formality or required other than
that the genre. And because you are picking the genre those standards should be
easy to achieve.

Video 1:
Looks crazy, very relaxed posture. No apparent evidence to what was wrong with
the music. Used very general words. Not focused or well put together, no obvious
purpose to the video.

Video 2:
Well thought out ideas, very informative for those that arent familiar, used words
relevant to the topic, refreshed history (past and present) for more background
information, gave the pros and cons to the references he used/ acknowledging what
he does and doesnt agree with,

Journal 1:

I would be more inclined to listen to the second person

-

Defined what the music was because some may not know
Gave a brief history lesson to bring you up to date
Gave negative and positive outlooks on the music
Leaves the audience to consider something at the end

Journal 2:
I would use all of video #2 format. I felt he briefly covered a lot of information to get
unknown persons up to date and into the conversation and then he covers his
conversation in a non-bias manner, and he leaves the audience with a question to
consider. Thus acknowledging, educating, leaving more room for questioning

Journal 3:
Preparation for my presentation:
-

Identify facts to build background setting

Incorporate the audience
State positive and negatives on the issue
Leave the audience with room to further explore the issue
