July 17, Sun.-6:30 p.m., Phil Gehman, from Greer, SC and Dean of Students Emeritus,
Columbia Theological Seminary will speak on the subject: A Tale of Two Traditions:
A Presbyterian's Search for His Mennonite Heritage at an outdoor meeting at the
1855 Allegheny Mennonite Meetinghouse, 39 Horning Road, Mohnton. There will be
special music by the Stumptown Men's Quartet. Please bring a lawn chair. For more

July 20, Wed.-Bowmansville Sewing Circle will not be held this month(June) due to
other activities held at BMC. However, donations toward Relief kits are welcomed.
The contents consist of the following items:4 lg bars bath soap,1 plastic bottle
shampoo (13-24 oz placed in ziplock bag),4 lg bars laundry soap,4 adult size
toothbrushes,4 new bath towels ( med. weight, dark or bright colors),2 wide tooth
combs,1 fingernail clipper,1 bx adhesive bandages (min. 40 count, assorted),1 pkg
sanitary pads (18-24 count thin maxi) Place items in bag & bring to BMC. Sewing
Circle will see they are taken to MRC for distribution. If you are unable to contribute a
complete relief kit, donations of bath towels are welcome.
July 25, 27, 28, Mon., Wed., Thurs.-Acts of Love-Summer Lunch Program in
cooperation with the churches of the Cocalico Ministerium providing free lunches to
families in need at Adamstown(?), Denver, Reamstown and Reinholds Parks. Our
church is covering one week of the summer and volunteers are needed to distribute
and serve lunches. This year food pick-up is at Denver Elem. Please sign-up on the
sheet on the table in the church narthex.
-Here's a small yet significant way we can walk with Jesus globally as part of
our church vision. Gods heart to welcome the "stranger", is evident in Deuteronomy
10:18-19 and Matthew 25:35-36. More than 60 million people have been displaced
from their homes. How can you support refugees in the name of Christ? MCC has an
urgent need for 8,000 hygiene kits. See the back table for a bag and info card of
contents needed. The contents are minimal in cost. All ages can participate. Place
completed kits/bags under the back table. Can we fill all 30 bags or perhaps more?
-To try to lighten the load on the kitchen committee, would there be any group who
would like to to organize a planned meal (perhaps a fundraiser meal for some cause)
for the meal at Woodcrest Retreat Sun, July 24? If interested, please talk to Michelle
Gockley, Ruthie Kulp, or Roxanne Good.
-SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS EEDED:Hinkletown Mennonite School is looking for
bus drivers for daily routes. Extra or substitute hours also available. Willing to train.
