E. Materials Needed:
Bottles: 2 liter bottle, 20 oz bottle
PURPLE duct tape
water
cardboard

2. Gather all your materials
3. Make rocket by taping together two bottles (2 liter and 20 oz) connected on the bottom
4. Put wings on your rocket (only 3 wings!) but make sure they are right triangles that are 3 ¾ x 2
½ inches and with the angle of 45º that are all straight
5. Cut off Labels on all bottles
6. Measure 1000ml of water and pour into the 2 liter (none in the 20oz)
7. Make a duct tape line where 1000ml lays (PURPLE!)
8. Put 200ml in the top of the bottle (20 oz)
9. When ready to launch rocket bring it to the field with Mr. Sportel, take the launcher and
measuring sticks with you
10. Step up measuring system before launch
11. Put the bottle on the launcher
12. Launch the bottle and then record your data of how far it went
13. Repeat steps 8-13 3 more times with different amounts of water in the top bottle (20 oz) with
100z and 0oz
G. 1. My data supports my hypothesis because my data shows that with less water the rocket goes
further. 200 ml goes further than what 800 ml does. On my graph you can see the numbers of distance
decrease as the water amount increases.

2. If I did this experiment again I would go up by less and less water. Instead of doing 200 ml in
between trials I would have done 100. This way you can be more accurate and see better results.
