When troubles arise on behalf of one’s personal character it is considered

“private trouble”. Sometimes these issues are common enough in which
they are highly recognized in society. When these issues are considered to
be large at scale, this is when society may view the issue at hand as a social
problem rather than someone’s own personal downfall. If one person in a
particular region is having trouble finding work, this may be considered
someone’s “private trouble”. However, if the unemployment rate in that
area is high then that one person trouble should be considered a “public
issue” in which government actions or assistance may be called to order.

There are two main types of social problems. Subjective nature of social
problems differs by a particular audience at different times. The true
definition at matter determines whether or not it is a social problem or not.
When there are harmful conditions in society that brings troubles to our
population, such as poverty or racism, this is considered an objective
reality of social problems.

Karl Marx viewed our social institutions depending heavily on the basic
economy. He also believed that use of government, religion and the
educational system were the best ways to maintain power. He envisioned
that free enterprise would result in corporations growing enormously in size
and power, in which monopolies would take over. Karl Marx said the
contradictions inherent in capitalism were due to monopolies (which
eliminated competition), lack of centralized planning, demands for labor-
saving machinery, and control of the state by the wealthy.

Global inequality is the background of where social problems arise from.

Factors that influence such global differences are caused by immigration,
health care, aging of the elderly, the inequality gap, transformation of the
economy, increase in poverty, global warning and national security. Having
power is easily said to be the influence to public opinion. It also determines
the degree to which wealth is distributed within society. The ones who are
in power are the ones that enforce the laws that are created to define

deviance. The powerful ones are the most socially politically correct and
economically organized that make an impact in the world we live in.
