Dear LULACBrothers and Sisters:

The LatinoCommunityfaces many challenges as we enter this new


decade. As the fastest and largest growing population in this country, we
have to ensure our community is prepared to embrace the challenges that
we willface in this new decade. Since 1929. LULAChas been the civil
CITY OF rights group for the LatinoCommunity. Their advocacy in civilrights and
TuCSON for education has been exemplary.

COUNCIL MEMBER Withthis in mind, it is my honor and privilegeto endorse for the position of
WARD5 National President of LULAC,a true, communityadvocate, who has
worked hard to improvethe quality of lifefor all citizens. That person is
David Rodriguez.

David Rodriguez has been involvedin LULACfor more than three


decades. As a former legislator for the State of Arizona, past State
Directorfor LULACin Arizona, Deputy Directorfor LULACin California,
and as an immediate past Vice President for the Far West Region, he has
the experience, knowledge and dedication to take LULACto the next
level.

His organizational skills are exemplary and he has the abilityto work with
both the private and publicsectors and has a successful track record.

As a fund raiser for many charities and organizations, including LULAC,


David has been able to obtain the financing needed for many, crucial
projects, includingthe CaliforniaLULACYouth Leadership Conference
and cofounding the Arizona LULACYouth Leadership Conference, which
has been in existence for more than 20 years.

David has strong leadership skills needed for the position of National
LULACPresident and more importantly,the communication skills to talk
with national leaders, such as President Obama to a local LULACleader
on issues of concern.

I have had the honor to serve with David Rodriguez as an immediate past
National LULACVice President for the Elderly,former Vice President for
the Far West Region, former State Directorof LULACfor Arizona and as a
co-founder of LULACCouncil 1057. It is my pleasure and privilege now to
endorse him in his bid to lead LULACintothis new decade. I am also
encouraging you to vote for him at the LULACNational Convention in July
in Albuquerque, New Mexico(http://lulac2010.com).
