HOW TO CONNECT TO NUR-WIRELESS IN WINDOWS XP

Instructions to connect to NUR-Wireless on Windows XP

Introduction

ICT Center is enabling a more secure wireless network in certain areas. This
network uses a WPA-Enterprise protocol and users will authenticate with their
LDAP accounts.

How to connect to NUR-Wireless

1. First right click on the My Network Places icon and choose Properties.

2. In the Network Connections window, find your Wireless Adapter and


right click it. Then, select Properties from the context menu.

3. The Wireless Network Connection Properties window will appear open the
Wireless Networks tab. The NUR-Wireless network should be listed under
Preferred Networks. Highlight this network and click Properties.

*Note: If NUR-Wireless does not appear in the list of Preferred Networks, click
the Add button and type: NUR-Wireless for the SSID.

4. For the Association tab, fill in the settings to match the screenshot below:

5. Flip to the Authentication tab and choose Protected EAP (PEAP) for EAP
type and then click the Properties button.

6. In the Protected EAP Properties window, fill out the settings to match the
screenshot below and then click the Configure button.

7. Uncheck the checkbox in this pop-up window and click OK.

8. Click OK until you are back at the Wireless Network Connection Properties
window. Then, click on the View Wireless Networks button. Next, double click
NUR-Wireless to begin connecting.

During the connection process, you will get a notification in the bottom right
down by the clock asking you to select a certificate, click once on this
message to log in.

9. A log on window will appear asking for a User name, Password and Logon
domain. Enter your LDAP user name and LDAP password and leave blank for
domain.

Note: If you are not connected after this step, please RESTART your
computer.
