Message from Captain Declan J. Farrell

Dear Fellow members of Lee Valley Golf Club,

I am honoured and delighted to take on the role of Captain of Lee

Valley Golf Club for 2010. Our club has been very fortunate in the
people that have held this office since 1993 and I want to thank all
past Captains and Presidents for their commitment and support of
Lee Valley Golf Club over the years.

In particular, I congratulate our 2009 Captain Mr Tony Hurley on his

many achievements and also thank him for inviting me to be his
successor. I can assure you all that I will give this role my full
commitment as I look forward to an exciting and successful 2010 for
all members of Lee Valley Golf Club. We have very talented golfers
in our club and I wish all our teams success in 2010. I will also
continue to develop our younger players who have great potential
and will be the future of this club.

I congratulate our incoming President, Mr Karl Bornemann, a great

club supporter for many years, and I look forward to working with
him and all the incoming committee in the year ahead.

I wish Jerry, Peg, Paul and David Keohane continued success in 2010
and I know that their ongoing work to further improve and develop
the golf course and facilities will benefit all of us.

Many thanks to the continuing support of our many sponsors

particularly during these difficult economic times and I encourage all
members to support those businesses that continue to provide
sponsorship to our club.

I congratulate Lady Captain Phyllis and Lady President Deirdre and

wish them every success for their year of office during which we will
work together to further strengthen the bonds between the two clubs.

Finally to all the members of Lee Valley Golf Club, both the men and
ladies, I wish you all an enjoyable and successful golfing year in
2010.

I am very honoured to be your Lady Captain for

Lady President.
