INTROUCTION :
3 Idiots (Hindi:) is a 2009 Bollywood comedy film directed by Rajkumar Hirani, with a screenplay by
Abhijat Joshi, and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It was loosely adapted from the novel Five Point
Someone by Chetan Bhagat. 3 Idiots stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor,
Omi Vaidya, Parikshit Sahni and Boman Irani. 3 Idiots has become the
highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time in India. The film set a box office record for the Indian
film industry, grossing Rs 410 crore (US$ 90.5 million) worldwide. It is expected to be the first Indian
film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 weeks of releasing in theaters on March 25,
2010.The film also went on to win many awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and
best director, and ten Star Screen Awards. The film also uses real inventions by little known
people in India's backyards. The brains behind the innovations were Remya Jose, a student from
Kerala, who created the exercise-bicycle-cum-washing-machine, Mohammad Idris, a barber from
Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, who invented a bicycle-powered horse clipper, and Jahangir Painter, a
painter from Maharashtra, who made the scooter-powered flour mill.
The movie '3 Idiots' is totally focused on the current education
system and its drawbacks. It has covered the situation of all the participants practically involved in the
education system in India i.e. students, colleges, faculties and parents. Thus, this movie is a lesson to
all the above parties, which I have analyzed after watching this movie.
Basically, this movie covers the pressure that the students of higher education are facing because of
high end expectation from their parents, colleges and faculties.
One of the important issues covered in this movie is student's suicide due to pressure
and failure in fulfilling the expectations. As such kind of incidents are not good for the society, country
and families.
India is a young country and youths are the trend setters for any nation. It is a matter of
concern for all of us and we must look into this issue seriously. This kind of incidents also affects us
directly or indirectly as we all are part of this system. Thus, we need to think and bring some dynamic
and revolutionary changes in the education system of the country. This movie seems to me like a real
life case study about Indian Higher Education System. The movie enlightens
the drawbacks of current education system. As it clearly shows that how students of higher education
are forced to perform best in their exams to achieve good marks, which will get them a highly paid jobs
in top most companies around the globe. According to current system we teach our youngsters that Life
is a race and to be successful you have to run faster and leave others behind. In this race they start using
shortcuts and other means to get success just like the character "CHATUR" in the movie.
In this race, everybody in the system misses or skips the importance
of knowledge and its practical usability in life and work. The gist of this movie is that instead of
running behind degree and marks, we should focus on getting knowledge and developing skills through
knowledge. This will develop excellence in students and make them eligible to do their work more
effectively and efficiently.

Some espects of 3 idiots:
After watching 3 Idiots I was wondering about the lessons that the movie conveys through its story.

1. Never Try To Be Successful:

Success is the bye-product. Excellence always creates success. So, never run after the success,
let it happen automatically in the life..
Do not learn to get success. Learn for knowledge. Success will follow. When we strive hard to learn
and improve our knowledge, we move ahead in life.
2. Freedom To Life:
Don’t die before actual death. Live every moment to the fullest as you are going to
die today night. Life is gifted to humankind to live, live & live @ happiness.
Do not take life too seriously. Life is there to enjoy, have fun, making friends, and of course getting
proper education. We get life once and we should live it the way we dream of.
3. Passion Leads To Excellence:
When your hobby becomes your profession and passion becomes your profession. You will be
able to lead up to excellence in the life. Satisfaction, pleasure, joy and love will be the outcome of
following passion. Following your passion for years, you will surely become something one day.

4. Learning Is Very Simple:

Teachers do fail. Learners never fail. Learning is never complicated or difficult. Learning is
always possible whatever rule you apply.
5. Pressure At Head:
Current education system is developing pressures on students’ head. University intelligence is
useful and making some impact in the life but it cannot be at the cost of the life.
6. Life Is Emotion Management Not Intelligence Optimization:
Memory and regular study have definite value and it always helps you in leading a life. You
are able to survive even if you can make some mark in the path of the life. With artificial intelligence,
you can survive and win but you cannot prove yourself genius. Therefore, in this process genius dies in
you.
7. Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention:
Necessity creates pressure and forces you to invent something or to make it happen or to use
your potentiality. Aamir Khan in this film, 3 idiots, is able to prove in the film by using aqua guard
pump at the last moment.
8. Simplicity is Life:
Life is need base never want base. Desires have no ends. Simplicity is way of life and Indian
culture highly stresses on simple living and high thinking, and this is the way of life: ‘Legs down to
earth and eyes looking beyond the sky’
9. Industrial Leadership:
Dean of the institute in 3 idiots is showing very typical leadership. He has his own principles,
values and ideology, and he leads the whole institute accordingly. This is an example of current
institutional leadership. In the present scenario, most of the institutes are fixed in a block or Squarish
thinking.
11. Importance Of One Word In Communication:
If communication dies, everything dies. Each word has impact and value in communication.
One word if used wrongly or emphasized wrongly or paused at a wrong place in communication what
effect it creates and how is it affected is demonstrated very well in this movie.
Learn to
communicate well. Each word has its own importance. Proper pauses and stress on certain words will
convey the exact meaning, or may even change the entire meaning. Like in the movie, Chatur's speech
was modified with few words but the entire speech was changed.
12. Help others and foster respect:
Helping others helps you to grow mentally and easily associates you. A lasting relationship is created
by helping others. In the movie, Aamir helps Joshi and Madhavan in choosing right careers for them
and follow their dreams. This creates an everlasting bond between friends, not only friends but with
anyone whom we help. You grow as a person and never have to look back in life.
13. Be confitent on your own self:
It conveys a messege to all of us that be confitent on your self that u can do any think. If you lose your
confitence then you can’t do any thing.
Some negative aspects of 3idoits:
1. This movie has strictly violate the censor limitations of Indian film industry censor board.
2. The method shown in this movie to achieve success is awkward in the way that healthy
activities does not resembles the immoral activities ,the movie has shown in favour of which.
3. Enjoying your life does not allow you to tease or irritate or make fun of others.
4. Showing drug abuse as a healthy activity clearly contradicts the moral values and ethics or
laws of an institution.
5. There is an old saying that “you can only be successful by in ur field if the trainer of yours
has blissful memories of yours, while training”.
But in the movie the is absolutely out of mind when you look at the acts of characters with their
teacher.

Conclusion:
3 Idiots received generally positive reviews. Subhash K. Jha
(film critic and author of The Essential Guide to Bollywood) states: "It's not that 3 Idiots is a flawless
work of art. But it is a vital, inspiring and life-revising work of contemporary art with some heart
imbued into every part. In a country where students are driven to suicide by their impossible
curriculum, 3 Idiots provides hope. Maybe cinema can't save lives. But cinema, sure as hell, can make
you feel life is worth living. 3 Idiots does just that, and much more. The director takes the definition of
entertainment into directions of social comment without assuming that he knows best." Nikhat Kazmi
of the Times of India gave it four and a half stars and suggests that, "The film is a laugh riot, despite
being high on fundas [...] Hirani carries forward his simplistic `humanism alone works' philosophy of
the Lage Raho Munna Bhai series in 3 Idiots too, making it a warm and vivacious signature tune to
2009. The second half of the film does falter in parts, specially the child birth sequence, but it doesn't
take long for the film to jump back on track." Mayank Shekhar of the Hindustan Times gave the film
three and a half out of four stars and comments that this "this is the sort of movie you’ll take home with
a smile and a song on your lips." Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave 3 Idiots four and a half
out of five stars and states: "On the whole, 3 Idiots easily ranks amongst Aamir, Rajkumar Hirani and
Vidhu Vinod Chopra's finest films. Do yourself and your family a favour: Watch 3 Idiots. It's
emotional, it's entertaining, it's enlightening. The film has tremendous youth appeal and feel-good
factor to work in a big way." Kaveree Bamzai of India Today gave 3 Idiots five stars and argues that
"it's a lovely story, of a man from nowhere who wanted to learn, told like a fairy tale, with the secret
heart carrying its coded message of setting all of us free."
