The Vodafone Mobile Connect for Mac software is designed for use with Vodafone Mobile
Connect PC Cards, ExpressCards, USB modems and USB sticks, together with Apple
Macintosh computers.

How to check which version is installed

1. Start Vodafone Mobile Connect
2. Click the <Vodafone Mobile Connect> entry on the Mac menu bar
3. Select <About Vodafone Mobile Connect>
4. Details window will be displayed containing the version number.

Requirements
Supported operating systems
x Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther is supported on PowerPC Macs.
x Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger and above are supported on Intel and PowerPC Macs.
x Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard and above are strongly recommended.
x Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar and earlier versions are not supported in VMC for Mac Release
2.06 and above.

How to check your Mac’s operating system version

Open the “About This Mac” window from under the Apple icon in the top left-hand corner
of the screen. The operating system version is shown beneath the heading “Mac OS X”.
Note all three numbers, eg. 10.5.5.

Firmware
x If a device already works properly, a firmware update will not improve anything.
x Firmware updates cannot be performed on Apple Macintosh computers, only on
Microsoft Windows PCs.
x Contact Support if you feel a firmware update is necessary.

How to check which firmware is installed

1) Start Vodafone Mobile Connect
2) In the main VMC software window, click on the <Support> tab
3) The firmware version is listed in the lower panel of the Support window.

Mac Hardware Revisions

There are often adjustments to the hardware of a Mac model before it is replaced by a
completely new model. Some hardware revisions may have particular issues with mobile
devices.

How to the check hardware revision of your Mac

1) Open the “About This Mac” window from under the Apple icon in the top left-hand
corner of your screen
2) Click on “More info” button
3) The HW revision is the second line in the first window, which is shown by default.

For example, a Revision 1 MacBook Pro is shown as “MacBookPro1,1”; a Revision 2

MacBook Pro as “MacBookPro2,1”. The first number in each case is the hardware revision.

Removal Instructions
To remove the VMC software:
x Run the Vodafone Mobile Connect Installer
x Click <Next> and accept the End-User Licence Agreement
x Select <De-install> from the drop-down menu, and click <Next>
x Click <Finish> and then restart your Mac
x Empty the trash.
