Dear Parent,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to
our 2nd grade classroom. Your child will have a busy and exciting year in
2nd grade. One of the first exciting activities our class will be starting the
school year off with is helping to run Stanton Elementary’s TV show. I
hope to use the TV show to integrate some academic subjects such as
reading, writing, science, and technology.
Stanton Elementary will provide your child with one pencil a month
and crayons to use in our classroom. We will also provide line paper for any
classroom work. I often suggest to parents that their student may want to
have some extra personal pencils and crayons to keep in their own desk. I
do ask that students bring a backpack to school every day. During the warm
months, your child may want to have a water bottle.
If you need to contact me or would like some additional information
about our classroom before our Open House on August 25, you can call the
office at 831-2400. I also have a website with our class newsletter and links

with your child.
Attached to this letter is a questionnaire to help me learn more about
your child. Please fill out the questionnaire and have your child return it by
Monday, September 9 .
