f I may use chiropractic listings to advance your case, you are probably "adjust

ing" by the classic side-lying position. The position (for right hip) is normal
ly lying on the left side, left shoulder rolled under, right leg bent with right
foot behind left knee. Then a downward, twisting motion is applied to the righ
t shoulder and right hip, to achieve the traditional "pop" or "crack" which sign
ifies a joint release. The chiropractic listing for such subluxations is usually
PIIN, PIEX, ASIN, ASEX or IN-EX. There are, of course, many variations on the
theme. The point of thrust is the right posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) a
nd the line of correction is inferior to superior, medial to lateral and posteri
or to anterior (whew!) Anyway, I ve seen a book and tape by a chiropractor called
"home chiropractic" or something similar, but haven t seen it recently. I ll check
my older magazines and see if I can find the ad. I doubt that any serious damage
may result from such rotational adjustments, as long as they are smooth and for
ceful NO JERKING!! If the vertebra does not release upon mild to moderate press
ure, a gentle stretch in the same position (at least 2-3 minutes of stretching)
will facilitate a facet joint articulation without the "pop" or "crack". The re
sult may not be as noticable, but will suffice just the same. I ll get back to thi
s thread if I find the info! Robert Conner Pain Management Alternatives Omaha, N
