CAMEL CAMEL
CAMELS
Camels are strong large animals that
live on desert. Camels can travel great
distances across dry hot desert with only
little water and food . They can walk easily
on soft sand. They can carry people and
heavy loads to places that have no roads.
Camels also serve people of the desert in
many other ways.
The camel carries its own built-in food
supply on its back in the form of a hump.
The hump is a large lump of fat that
provides energy if the food is hard to get.
There are two chief kinds of camels.
They are the Arabian camels (dromedary
camel), which has one hump and the
Bactrian camel, which has two humps.
