HOME IRONING ASSIGNMENT

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: The following assignment must be completed at home under

your supervision. Students are asked to complete this assignment & have you rate them on each
step. Then please e-mail me with your evaluation and comment.

Your child will be using the iron many times while completing their sewing project. Students
have had a basic lesson on ironing & pressing but have not had a chance to practice. Please give
your child a lesson on safety, set-up, use of the iron & clean-up. Please demonstrate the
difference between ironing (getting rid of wrinkles) & pressing (putting in a crease). Then give
your child 2 items to be ironed &/or pressed.

Please give them an overall rating using the scale below AND a G, S or N for
effort/work habit & attitude/behavior.
