CIRCULARS
Circulars are meant to convey the same information to a large number of people. Such
information is usually of general nature and not confidential. Circulars can be used for the
following purposes.

1. To emphasise certain aspects of office conduct.


2. To intimate changes in the working hours of the office, canteen, library etc.
3. To invite applications from employees for promotion tests, etc.
4. To inform the employees about changes in medical rules, L.I.C rules, reimbursement
of conveyance expenses, etc.

The subject of the circular must be mentioned at the top.

Circulars are usually put on the notice board. If they contain some information of
substantial importance, they can be circulated among the staff and the signature of the staff
members obtained on an employee list.

Eg :
An office circular inviting entries for the news bulletin of the company.

Subject : Entries for the news Bulletin Jyothi

• The next issue of the office New Bulletin Jyothi is proposed to be brought out in the
first week of January, 2008. Articles, poems, cartoons, stories, news regarding
individual achievements/milestones are invited from the employees and the members
of their families.
• All entries can be either in English or in Hindi.
• Entries should be preferably typed, on one side of the paper, with at least 1.5 inch
margin on both sides.
• Entries should reach the undersigned by 15 November, 2008.
• Contributors are advised to keep a copy of their contributions with themselves.
