General There are no required scheduled maintenance checks for the components of the TFM-556 UHEF/VHF/LO/HI Band FM Transceiver and TFM-66 LO Band FM Transceiver systems. ‘Their primary maintenance process is CONDITION-MONI TURING. Description December 15, 2003, ‘The TFM-56 UHF/VHF/LO/HI Band FM Transceiver is a three band, frequency agile, airbome VHF/UHF FM transceiver capable of operating on the International VEIF low band. (from 66 to 88 MHz), VHF high band (138 to 1/4 MHz) and UHK band (403 to 512 MHz). ‘An antenna is required for each of the three bands. ‘The TFM-66 LO Band FM Transceiver is a single band VHF/FM transceiver designed to ‘operate from 66.000 MHz to 88.000 MEizat the high end of the General Service VHF Low Band. The TFM-66 also incorporate a two channel VHF guard receiver. Removal / Installation A. Antenna(s) Removal a) Remove scalant around periphery of antenna. b) Remove fastening screws used to attach antenna to fuselage ©) Disconnect coaxial cable from antenna coax connector. Installation ) Connect coaxial cable to antenna coax connector. ©) Secure fastening screws used to attach antenna to fuselage. 4). Seal around periphery of antenna, Adjustment / Test A, TEM-SS6 Transceivers Tests of the TFM-556 Transceiver are to be performed in accordance with the Technisonic Industries Limited Airhorne Transcaiver Model TFM-556 Installation and Operating, Instructions, TIL Document No. 03RE328, Rev. N/C, dated September 2003, or later approved revision. B. TFM-66 Transceivers ‘Tests of the TFM-66 Transceiver are to be performed in accordance with the Technisonic Industries Limited Airbome Transceiver Model TFM-66 Installation and Operating Instructions.
