    This game called Four in a Row is used to practice vocabulary or grammar structures. Students are each given a grid with verbs and must make sentences using the verbs in order to place markers on the grid and try to get four in a row. To move up the grid, the verb in the line below must be used in a sentence. The first student to get four markers in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally wins.

    How to play FOUR IN A ROW:

    This game is good to practice vocabulary or grammar structures, for example verbs in past or making sentences. It is up
    to you what you want to practice.

    1. Give each pair of students a grid.


    2. Give them something to use as a game marker.
    3. Tell the students that they will be using these verbs to make a sentence in present progressive, for example.
    4. If they participate correctly they put a marker over the verb.
    5. They start on line one.
    6. In order to go up the verb in the line below must be used. For example, the verb in line 2a cannot be filled
    because 1a has not been used.
    7. The first player to get four in a row wins.
