A Peek at the Week
Reading:
This week begins our Animal unit in Open
Court. We will learn the sounds for the
letters l, b, d and short o. We will also work
predicting and comparing and contrasting.
Language Arts/Writing:
We are talking about where writers get their
ideas and adding adjectives to our writing
this week.
Math:
This week wraps-up unit one in our new
math series Math Expressions. We will
continue number explorations and doubles.
Science:
Our first science unit is on scientific inquiry
and we will learn about using our 5 senses.
Box tops for Education!
We are now collecting box tops for education to help
fund our learning at our new school. Please
remember to save your box tops and send them in
with your child as soon as possible. Every little bit
helps!

REMINDERS
☺ Please be sure to send a note in the
communication folder if you have a change in
transportation or call my extension and leave a
message. 9/29/10 is a noon dismissal.
☺ Please place all money in an envelope with your
child’s name on the outside and then place it in the
Money and Notes section of the communication
folder.
☺ I do not check backpacks and will likely not receive
an important note, etc. if it is not included in your
child’s folder.
