0.03 The exposition part of Freytag’s pyramid in the
music video as it introduces Taylor, her character and
the location. Between 0.08-0.09 the audience can tell
that she is vulnerable as a flashback of her parents
arguing is shown which can be seen as the main conflict
of the video.
0.51 shows the main characters together. The story is
progressing and the stereotypical love story with the
couple on the beach shows the rising action.
2.03 this shows the climax of the video as Taylor is
proposed to. This also bring up questions for the viewer
as to whether she will accept after knowing that her
parents used to argue.
0.18 shows Taylor in the woods singing the words to the
song. A convention of a typical music video. The
hanging pictures show an original idea that links in with
the underlying story in the video. The bright colours
lighten the atmosphere of the video.
1.15 the story progresses as the couple move into their
new house together this is still showing the rising action
of Freytag’s triangle.
2.20 this shot shows the couple arguing. The point in-
between the climax and the falling action as the viewer
knows that the story has to end soon. She then has
another flashback to the memory of her parents fighting.
0.43 This shows the beginning of the inciting incident as
Taylor meets her love interest in the story and whom the
song is about. It then cuts back to Taylor singing in the
woods and shows close ups of her singing another
music video convention.
1.23 this shot shows a photo of a stereotypical family but
the audience knows that this isn’t a perfect family as they
have seen the flashbacks earlier in the video of Taylor’s
parents arguing.
3.33 shows the couple and how time has past and they
have two children this shows the resolution of the story
as it shows how Taylor has got over her fear of her and
her love interest becoming like her parents. The video
ends happily finishing with a close up of Taylor singing.
