2003 par’ TEADERSHIP SUMMIT Purpose To develop and empower a cadre of front-line Community Leaders that will actively identify, address, and generate solutions for the critical quality-ofife issues within the various communities by working in collaboration and partnering with existing leaders, resources, associations, services, programs, agencies, and organizations throughout Baltimore City. Goal ‘To initiate a City-wide partnership for a Spring Leadership Summit among existing leaders, organizations, associations, agencies, and programs that have ‘community Leadership Development as part of their Mission, Outcomes ‘The launching of a Spring Leadership Summit and the formation of a Community Leadership Development Institute with the Mission of cultivating, through-out Baltimore City, the democratic principles of community civility, leadership, participation, partnerships, empower- ment, and capacity-building. Sponsors Looking forward to one or several of the Organizational Partners to endorse and provide formal sponsorship — the site and facilities — for the Spring Leadership Summit 2003. HRD Consulting Services has recognized the need and will serve to facilitate a joint-partnership for the plan- ning, coordination, and implementation process for launch- ing the Spring Leadership Summit 2003, and assist in the eventual formation of a Community Leadership Develop- ment Institute. Participants ‘A Planning and Coordinating Council will be formed in February. Their mandate would be to plan, coordinate, launch, and implement the Spring Leadership Summit 2003. All other leaders, volunteers. associations, and organizations are invited 1 become apait of the agenda building process and to make a training presentation or to showcase their Community Leadership Development Initiatives. Charter for the Council Review current community leadership development resources © Identify and prioritize the critical quality-of-life commu: nity issues © Cross reference critical needs, existing resources, and target training gaps * Prepare a program agenda for the Spring Leadership ‘Summit Identify and enroll speakers and workshop presenters Coordinate the execution of the Spring Leadership Summit © Prepare an evaluation report of the Spring Leadership Summit © Formulate next steps for launching a Community Leadership Development Institute © Outline a training curriculum for developing Commu- nity Leaders © Identify an institutional sponsor to operationalize the ‘Community Leadership Development Institute Planning Meeting Dates The Summit Planning and Coordinating Council will meet at ‘The Pratt Library, 400 Cathedral Street, on the second floor, in the Poe Room from 3:00 - 5:00. The following is the sched- ule for the Summit Council meetings. Please confirm your attendance.
